I'm riding nearly all XC, lots of rocks and rolling track with a few 6-10" drops and bigger rocks. There are alot of people that seem to never be able to get it dialed in. However it is certainly the least bang for the buck.įrom my research the REBA seems to have the best XC, small bump compliance but at the sacrifice of being too complex. The Recon is a basic solo-air fork and one of the reasons I'm considering it is it seems to be the best, set it and forget about type fork. Also I've read that I'll need a stiffer fork for the manitou, which looks to cost another $20. However most people over on MTBR seem to think its a burlier fork and less prone to problems since it's simpler. I've heard only good things about the Manitou Tower Pro, however it seems to be less of a fork for about the same money. It also comes with a shock pump, and seems to be the most tuneable. The Reba is the most expensive but is also adjustable from 80-120mm. Trying to decide which fork to put on my 29'er.
